Mission is to monitor and protect Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan in the Muskegon area from filling and degradation as well as maintain and increase public access.
Muskegon
Muskegon Save Our Shoreline (SOS) has been working on behave of public access and lakefromt environmental protection since 1974, and was originally formed
to successfully oppose the construction of a steel mill on the shores of Muskegon
Lake. Muskegon SOS is dedicated to protecting the environment on the shores of Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan. We are not associated with the other Save our Shoreline associations in Michiagn and we do not support their goals. Most recently Muskegon SOS worked to protect Nugent Sand from installing a pipeline thorugh a critical dune.
The Save
Our Shoreline board meets the first Thursday of every month at 6PM at the Muskegon
Yacht Club. Everyone is welcome. You do not have to be a member or board member
to attend.
